Improving small game and biodiversity on agricultural landscapes within the next Common Agricultural Policy (CAP): The FACE position

Farm policy is the most significant factor affecting the status of European game species: Big game populations are increasing, and small game populations are decreasing. The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is essential at the EU level to ensure food security, safeguard farmers’ income, keep rural areas vibrant, and support environmental objectives.

The FACE position, adopted in September 2024, contains a series of policy requests to improve small game and biodiversity on agricultural landscapes within the next CAP (post-2027). FACE will work to ensure these requests are reflected in the final text of the next CAP.
